Nurses’ resources are patients’ resources
It was with this in mind that we launched our final major workshop for nurses at the Volyn Regional Clinical Hospital as part of the CARE project.
Four hours. Three thematic blocks. Evidence-based psychology, practical tools and space for a genuine conversation about stress, personal boundaries, burnout and what helps us find support when there is so much instability around us.

Participants explored how the brain reacts to chronic stress in wartime conditions, which resilience strategies work best for them, and how a team can be a source of support and protection – not only for patients, but for every member of the team.

The series of major seminars has concluded. But the care continues.
Practical sessions are already underway across all hospital wards, and ahead lie new CARE project activities aimed at supporting the psychological wellbeing of healthcare workers.
The “CARE” project is implemented by the European Ukrainian Council for Cooperation and Development (EUCCD) with the support of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech
Republic as part of the MEDEVAC czech in partnership with the Volyn Regional Clinical Hospital.
